Mr. Wanigasinghe has over 17 years of experience in environmental due diligence consulting. Prior to forming Velocity, Mr. Wanigasinghe was a senior environmental scientist at AquaTerra Environmental Services Corp. (AquaTerra).

While at AquaTerra Mr. Wanigasinghe performed hundreds of Phase I Environmental Site Assessments, Phase II Site Assessments and conducted and supervised Phase III Remediation projects. Mr. Wanigasinghe wrote protocols, trained new employees and managed a team of environmental site assessors.

Prior to joining AquaTerra, Mr. Wanigasinghe was a building Survey Coordinator for the White Lung Association where he was responsible for the oversight of an asbestos site investigations performed by the Association’s technicians and conducted hygienic air monitoring programs and building inspections for asbestos abatement projects. Mr. Wanigasinghe is a Certified Hazardous Materials Manager (CHMM) and an EPA AHERA Asbestos Inspector, Management Planner and Project Designer.

Mr. Wanigasinghe received his B.A. degree in Economics and Finance from New York University and a M.S. degree in Environmental Science from the City University of New York, Hunter College. He has also completed the following courses: OSHA 40-Hour Training for Health and Safety for Hazardous Waste Sites Investigation Personnel, EPA AHERA Asbestos Inspector, Management Planner, and Project Designer, New York State Restricted Handler II and III, Asbestos Inspector, New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection and Energy Certification for Underground Storage Tanks.
